i'm stuck in the 60s baby.

i ended up skipping class today with my boyfriend. we both have english class together and we were too busy cuddling under the blankets and so forth so we just said, hey! fuck english class. we'll go next week ;) just kidding. but we didn't go. we were only going to be working on our essays on the computer and it would've been such a bore! i would've been dyyyying to go home (like always). and from 4:30 until 9:50 i took a nap. can you believe how much sleep that is? and of course there's the sleep later on tonight. i've been taking that long of a nap ever single day for about a week and a half now. it's getting the best of me! i'm so weak and wobbly. don't want to get up or go anywhere when i wake up from it. ick.
do you notice the missing button on my dress? i found an identical button sitting on my desk so i ended up sewing it on later. it was a perfect match! this dress is about 4 years old. or 3 years. but i found it and i thought, why not wear it? it's soo chic. if only i had knee high lace boots to go with it :( actually, i have these amazing go go boots that are knee high with a square toe. but i don't like square toes. i actually don't know if i like those boots are not because of the square toe, otherwise they would be perfectly aaaamazing! i had them since i was 14 (really!) maybe i'll take a picture of them with them on and someone can tell me how they look... because i'm so undecided with them!

1958 (1) i would kill for this beautiful plaid dress & cropped top. it's absolutely gorgeous. i love looking at old photos from old vogue or from the 50s/60s because in my opinion, they're so much more beautiful than today's fashion photos. don't get me wrong, today's fashion photos are so out there, so unique, so trashy yet classy; you know? i love it too. but the fashion photos from the 50s & 60s, the women are so dainty, elegant, and divine, the hair so perfect, untouched, accessorized but never overdone... simply lovely. look at the pretty little red bow in the brunette's hair. how cute? i think i'll be creating an outfit off of this. it's too much for me to look at it and not to! *
1950s (2) now look at the beautiful jumper in the second photo. i'm crazy about big buttons on pretty much

anything as well as wiggle dresses. the best part about the wiggle dress the model is wearing in this beautiful photo, is that it has a scoop neck. scoop neck's definitely flatter me over other types of necks. halter tops don't work well with me and neither do long v-necks (although i wish they did!) ah this lady looks so chic, so fabulous. especially standing in front of a motorcycle with her leather gloves on. what is it about 50s & 60s fashion that makes us all go wild over it? the big buttons, wiggle dresses, oversized earrings, fur trim... i know if i had a trunk full of clothes from the 60s i would be set for life. i would be the happiest girl on this planet. 100% satisfied! nothing else could go wrong. i'd think i was edie sedgwick, i swear. i'd definitely try to be at least (hell, i try to be audrey hepburn and edie sedgwick depending on the day!) but what is it about the fashion that makes us love it? it's coming back in today's fashion, that you can definitely see. maybe not as extreme, but it's coming back slowly. what do you think? *

1967 Braniff trolley dollies- how amazing are those green booties?!
